Construction has commenced on a AU$50 million Quest Apartment Hotels property in southeast Queensland, marking further expansion of the Quest brand across Australia. The 90-key Quest Southport will stand at 10 storeys tall and feature a state-of-the-art gym and a rooftop pool. The Ascott Limited said the Gold Coast build, which is managed by Westpoint Constructions and ADCO Constructions, will meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Police have declared an emergency situation at a Cairns hotel following a helicopter crash in the early hours of Monday morning. ABC News reports that up to 400 people have been evacuated after a helicopter crashed into the roof of the DoubleTree by Hilton on Cairns Esplanade shortly before 2am on Monday morning. Police have advised the public to avoid the area with an exclusion zone in place across Esplanade, Minnie Street, Abbott Street and Florence Street.
